This photo was taken almost two years ago, of me and little Ella. It's a beautiful feeling, holding a little life in your arms. And every time it happens in that orphanage across the sea, I can't help but think: "She doesn't even get this every day." I am anxious as ever to get to China and hold this little one in my arms again. Most of the children in the orphanage go days on end without receiving a hug or warm squeeze from a caring adult. Several of them are approaching 14 years old, and past that birthday they will be taken out of the adoption system and lose all hope of ever getting forever families. The majority of the children not only deal with a lack of basic needs, but also struggle with a variety, some of them even multiple, special needs. They need surgeries. They need therapy. They need fruit and vegetables. They need people in their lives every day who love them unconditionally. Like little Ella in the picture above, soaking up all the hug she can get... These kids deserve so much more than they are getting. You can help: If you are interested in inviting Hope Station into your home to share with friends and family about children like little Ella, email [email protected]. Thank you for your continued support.

A note from Rebekah...If you've ever wondered what it would be like to start a nonprofit from the ground up, to open a home for ORPHANS with special needs in Asia, you've come to the right place. Archives
