Today’s #throwbackthursday features beautiful Iris! 👧🏻 You know, for me, throwback photos are such a bittersweet thing. Isn’t the • best part • to see how much things have changed? 💗 Yet for Iris, this photo of her taken exactly 3 years and 3 days ago shows a glaring lack of change. She was always so small, and still is even now as a girl approaching 10 years old. She’s always had trouble doing small things with her hands, like putting on her shoes 👟 or coloring 🖍 in the lines — she still does. She’s always been quiet, despite how smart and aware she is, because no one takes the time to talk 💬 with her and develop her language skills. This is still the case.
What can be done? Well, she needs a #champion 💪🏻 in her life, someone to fight for her to get the BEST life of all, with love 💞 and affection and conversation 💬 and cuddling and therapy and education 📚 and nutrition 🍎. The Hope Station team goes into her orphanage 🏣 on the regular to give as much of that as we can, but we are limited. You could provide the funding it takes for more training and support for the nannies 👵🏻👩🏻who care for her every. day. You could hire more hands to decrease the current 🔟:1️⃣ child to nanny ratio. You could change Iris’s 👧🏻 life for the better. Iris depends on you. Make a donation today to change her life.

A note from Rebekah...If you've ever wondered what it would be like to start a nonprofit from the ground up, to open a home for ORPHANS with special needs in Asia, you've come to the right place. Archives
